Palms Elementary School holds annual Read Aloud

Mrs Laura Arvizu’s, fourth Grade Class at Palms Elementary School gather for a picture following a Read Aloud session with LCCN Editor Jerry Bernstein who read a book entitled “Dave the Potter” by L.C. Hill. Some of the questions asked included when he decided to become a newspaper reporter and why and the different events he wrote about. In answering their questions, he stressed the importance of reading and how it brings the world to the reader. Readers that day at the school’s annual Read Aloud program included ABC School Board President Maynard Law, School Board member Celia Spitzer, Hawaiian Gardens Mayor Mike Gomes and Councilman Victor Farfan, retired school teachers and community members.
