Preschool beautification community event

Artesia Mayor Tony Lima plants new shrubs in the yard.


Volunteers and family members came together Jun. 19 at the Artesia Children Center located just south of Artesia High for a Preschool Beautification Community Event sponsored by the Los Angeles County Psychological Association Foundation (LACPA), Mr. Lotay Young of the Black Card Circle Foundation, Artesia/Cerritos Rotary Club, Artesia Mayor Tony Lima, and Albert Robles from the Department of Water District of Southern California.
LACPA member Emily Chen thanked everyone for giving up their time to help beautify the playgrounds that will benefit the special needs children of the ABC Unified School District who attend the Artesia Children Center's Special Education School and Early Intervention Program.
One of the projects, chaired by Artesia Mayor Tony Lima, was to plant new shrubs in the yard, and another project was to re-paint the asphalt playground.
