Donation Pays for Drug Sniffing Dogs at High School
A donation of $1,500 was presented to Artesia High Principal Sergio Garcia by community leader Mary Lou Landes at the Feb. 3 meeting of the Hawaiian Gardens City Council to pay for drug sniffing dogs. In making the presentation, Landes said no drugs were found on the campus by the dogs. “In one classroom,” she added, “ the students said they felt safe on the school campus because there were no drugs or gangs there.”
