(Fullerton, CA) Offered at just $5 per family, through generous funding by anonymous sponsors, the Fullerton Arboretum is pleased to announce the return of “Tuesdays in the Garden,” evening events for families held throughout the summer months. Join us for an evening out with the family as we explore the worlds of living things at the Fullerton Arboretum. The 2010 event season includes:
July 21 is our annual Scavenger Hunt around Fullerton Arboretum, held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Join our expedition through the Arboretum to places you have never seen before! Each family will participate together as they follow the clues, share the learning and enjoy the hunt!
Birds of Prey will be held on August 4 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Special guest Peggy Chase of the Orange County Bird of Prey Center will lead the presentation, assisted live by her flying friends. Take a first-hand look and learn about the life of falcons, hawks, and more! We welcome picture-taking and questions galore!
Discover the Arboretum after dark at Creatures of the Night on August 18 from 7:30-9:00 p.m. Have you ever wondered what happens at the Fullerton Arboretum after the lights go out? Bats under bridges? Possums lumbering across the paths? What other Creatures of the Night lurk in our enchanting groves? Take an adventure into the darkness where dark doesn't always mean it’s time to sleep.
For each event, the cost is $5 per family and preregistration is appreciated. Please call 657-278-3407 by the Friday before the event so that we can plan for your arrival. Walk-ins are welcome as space allows. Check in at the Nature Center.
During the months of July, August and September, Fullerton Arboretum has extended visiting hours Monday through Thursday, enabling residents and guests to enjoy summer evenings at the Arboretum. During weeknights the Arboretum will be open in July until 8:00 p.m., August until 7:30 p.m. and September until 7:00 p.m.
