Goodwill launches "donate movement "

LONG BEACH, CA — Goodwill Industries International has launched a new innovative public awareness movement to emphasize the positive impact that donating clothing and other household goods can have on communities and the planet. Through the "Donate Movement," Goodwill® is challenging people to rid their closets and homes of unwanted items and put them to good use by donating them.
Goodwill serves the people of southern Los Angeles County as a community resource providing training and employment placement services to individuals with barriers to employment. Last year, Goodwill provided services for more than 7,000 people, trained more than 1,000 and placed 162 people in competitive employment. Goodwill’s e-waste recycling, retail and Shred-4-Good document shredding services last year diverted more than 15 million pounds of product from our landfills, which was recycled and reused.
