Landmark Square Grand Re-Opening big hit with residents and vendors

Saturday July 10 everything was free, free, free as Cerritos' own Landmark Square held it’s Grand Re-Opening. Landmark. The event was sponsored by Lisa Lau & Co., Inc. leasing agent to Landmark Square and Los Cerritos Community Newspaper Group Events.
Sixteen businesses in Landmark Square participated in the event. Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ, Panera Bread, T-Mobile, A Touch of Romance, Oreck of Cerritos, Anderson Tax Service, Titan Insurance, The Hair Whisperer, Evans Kitchen & Bath, Color Floors, Annie’s Florist, Charlene Castro D.D.S., and business soon to open Ajito Japanese Grill, Gatten Sushi, Chronic Taco, and Ron’s Seafood. Over 150 free prizes and gifts certificates were raffled off including 70 $20 Lucille’s gift cards donated by Lisa Lau & Co. Inc.
An estimated 800 community residents were on hand for the event. At 10 am the festivities started off with DJ/Announcer Rudy Hernandez of Dancesport Center Whittier filling the air with music. On hand for the kids was a castle bouncer with slide, clown, face painting, cotton candy and popcorn machine. The early morning started off with the raffling of prizes and prizes were awarded almost every ten minutes to the community.
Guests were able to visit the outdoor tables of every business that offered everything from floral arrangements to floor samples, vacuum products to outdoor cooking samples. Festive costumes were worn by Teams from Ajito Japanese Grill and Gatten Sushi. Exotic food samples like Spicey Salmon, Sushi, Crepes, and Teriyaki were handed out. More prizes, discounts, spin the wheel, and more were offered at individual tables.
Tim Gorman, Owner of Chronic Tacos thanked everyone for the event. “The event was very well put together and the team put together a well planned and well executed grand re-opening. My partner and I spoke with hundreds of enthusiastic residents that are looking forward to our opening. We also had the opportunity to form bonds with our fellow Landmark Square tenants. We judged the day as a success and are looking forward to future events and marketing activities with Los Cerritos Community News.”
At 12 noon the official ceremonies began at the DJ tent which was located near South Street in between Panera Bread and Lucille’s. Nick Nicolaides, Manager for the Los Cerritos Newspaper Group, and representing Lisa Lau Co., Inc. started off the ceremonies with some brief words to the community on behalf of Lisa Lau and the Los Cerritos Community News.
Next on hand to speak was Wyman Wong, Assistant Planner for the City of Cerritos, and Michael Tseng of Perkowitz & Ruth Architects, Chief artchitects of the new Landmark Square. Highlighting the speakers was Ceritos Mayor Joseph Cho. He spoke about the economic climate in the nation and Cerritos, and what a positive thing is for our community when a place like Landmark Square can be remodeled. He then awarded a City of Cerritos Proclamation to Landmark Square. The Mayor, a group of diginitaries, and the community then cut a beautiful yellow ribbon officially marking the Grand Re-Opening of Landmark Square. The festivities continued on until 2 pm with more prizes being awarded and fun for all.
